ahaha…. I really wanted to sing this by hook or by choke. I love listening to this song when I’m walking. It’s got the type of beat that’s nice to walk with. I’d listen to this even if it was in the middle of June. I know it’s got to be a chipmunk voice but I really couldn’t imitate it much. But I still really wanted to sing it! Muahahahahahaha
And I know I haven’t had a recording since February. :( it’s sad. Now that I’ve finally got a new computer and I could record again, I’m just not in the mood as much as before.
Warning: This recording can hurt your ears. Don’t blame me. MuahahhHAHAhahA

Ara, ara~ It’s been ages since I’ve last posted any karaoke. In fact, it’s been more than a year since my last Karaoke recording post.
The reasons are because I can’t use Audacity properly on the Mac and none of my headsets’ microphones would work on this piece of … machine. I’ve tried recording using the macbook’s built-in microphone but it just sounds so horrible.
I bought a camera recently (will post about it some other time) and instead of playing with the picture and video features of it, I discovered that it has a sound recorder that is really good. The hassle of it is since I can’t install its software on this machine (I got the cd drive jammed), it could only import pictures automatically. I have to remove the SD card and manually transfer the sound recorder files to this. And my card reader is defective. It’s so hard to transfer stuff to this. Pure hell, if I may say. So I just made 3 recordings and picked the one that sounded best and mixed it.
Don’t hate on me. I’m so out of practice. I haven’t been seriously vocalizing and so on, so I run out of breath all the time. Maybe I should get a treadmill just for the sake of cardio exercises, and breathing, which helps a lot in singing. *sigh*
So without further ado, here’s my version of yokogao (after a year and 2 days of not posting any karaoke). I just needed to record this and hear myself singing it (lol) for my sanity, because it kept on playing in my head. *addiction* This was from the last season of ARIA, ARIA The ORIGINATION.
Chata released Tabun Seishun under Usagi Kinoko, a doujin circle she personally runs.
Tabun Seishun was a pleasant mini-album to listen to and put on repeat as a whole. And although I couldn’t understand a thing, I like looking at the inlay and wonder if she wrote the inlay herself because it does look handwritten.
There’s this song that I heard a couple of months back. It’s the anime movie Byousoku 5cm or 5cm per Second. Well, the song is old. I know I’ve heard it somewhere before when I heard it from the movie… I mean, when they used it for the anime, it was kind of like a revival, as what we would call it here. And the movie is actually a series of segments, or short films, basically about relationships and distance.
I liked the movie, although I can’t give a full review right now. I’ll have to watch it again. But I kind of was able to relate to this movie. It was a little slow all throughout the movie… as if it was moving 5cm per second, but it was at a pace wherein you wouldn’t want it to rush nor slow down.
For a person like me who’s got a lot of close friends online, who I might not ever meet, distance is such a big thing and a small thing at the same time. The distance doesn’t keep us apart from being friends, but there are times when you wish the distance wasn’t there at all.
The ending song for the movie was what made me think of a lot of things. It made me think of the past, the present, and the future. Even before I was able to find a translation, just the mood of the song and from what little I could understand from it made me think about the what if’s in my life… the what could’ve been’s… It made me think of the things I wanted when I was a child, and the things I wanted and never got, which is probably a lot. It made me think about the dolls I saw and wanted and never got. It made me think of the other toys I had wanted. It made me think of the playhouses and the swing sets I wanted to have.
For the present, it made me think of the things I have to go through now, the things I let go in the past and now living with regrets and what I’ve got left, the things that make me ask myself, “Am I Happy?”
For the future, it made me think, or wonder, if I’ll be in the same state or the same place where I am now. Will I be able to move on for good, and all that emo stuff.
Ah.. Well… Here is the song that I want to share today. The translation is from Hunting the Elusive and lyrics itself can also be found in one of the comments.

Someone requested me to sing this song in English. I don’t watch the anime this song came from, but since I do the music releases (most of the time) for Baka-Wolf, I sometimes listen to music from anime that I don’t watch. And this is one of them. It was crazy, I couldn’t understand anything. Then I realized it was in English XD. So… xess asked me to sing the song in English, not in Engrish.
I actually like the song, after I heard the full version. It kind of reminds me of the Beatles and Tommy (Tommy heavenly6/february6/ of the brilliant green). If you read the lyrics below, they don’t really make sense. That and the Engrishness of the song, it’s almost like a totally different language.
To be honest, I think it doesn’t really sound good in English. But since this is really just for fun anyway… I myself wondered as well how it would sound in English. Well… Here it is, the non-Engrish version of Ringo Biyori. By the way, I just kind of made up the background vocals because I couldn’t make out all of them and sound nice at the same time. x_x
Ringo Biyori ~The Wolf Whistling Song (English Version)
Original Artist: ROCKY CHACK
From the anime: Spice and Wolf
Karaoke: misan
O seven apples on a witch’s tree
With seven seeds to plant inside of me
In springtime I grew a magic song
Then skipping along, oh I sang the song to everyone
I looked at the world through apple eyes
And cut myself a slice of sunshine pie
I danced with the peanut butterflies
Till time went and told me to say hello but wave goodbye
A thousand sugar stars
Oh put them in a jar
And then whistle round the world
Oh whistle round the world
I’m a little wolf inside a girl, you say
And off I’ll go from June to May
Oh whistling round the world
I met a golden swan upon the road
~Who was a handsome prince, so I was told
I asked it the way to yesterday
Then I was a sailor, and through the day I sailed away
Bluebird seas I sailed
With mermaids riding whales
Oh whistle round the world
Oh whistle round the world
I’m a little wolf inside a girl, you say
And off I’ll go down Wonder Way
Oh whistling round the world
Through apple eyes
Oh there are rose-coloured skylines
Where flying silver spoons
Eat melting marmalade moons
Through apple eyes
I see for millions of miles
The sun’s a diamond shining
In the nighttime of a summer day
A thousand sugar stars
Oh put them in a jar
And then whistle round the world
Oh whistle round the world
I’m a little wolf inside a girl, you say
And off I’ll go (I can not stay)
Oh whistling round the world
Let’s whistle round the world
Whistle round the world

For reference, here is the original version of the song. It might kind of give you a headache, but not to the point where you’ll need to whip out your health insurance card and avail of something like for medicare part d that is for prescription drugs I think. If you don’t get a headache, maybe a tummy ache from laughing.
Ever hear a song for the first time and you realize that it hits right on the spot? That you can totally relate to it and say, “This is how I’m feeling right now” or “This is my current theme song”?
I recently downloaded the last album by Barbarian on the Groove from the Dragon Valley series, Arco-Iris. I usually just keep my music on random because I have a lot of stuff that I haven’t listened to and putting everything on random lets me discover new music.
Now, I’ve always liked Barbarian on the Groove or BoG. BoG introduced to me one of the artists I really like who just recently got more famous for singing the Dango song (Dango Daikazoku) from the anime CLANNAD. Chata and BoG are Doujin artists or what you might know better as Indie artists. I’ve also posted some lyrics and music from BoG before.
But that’s not really what I want to talk about. I want to talk about this song that really struck me and made me think about a lot of things. And what made this song a little more special? It’s in English. Yep–You read it right. Not Engrish, but English.
Without further ado, here is the song and the lyrics for it.
in every door, in every turn
is a path to follow
in every hope, in every fear
is a heart to fill
yet every time you reach the sky
only leaves a longing
no longer sure, no longer pure
and your faith begins to fall
through your fingers like a fleeting moment passing by
we’re living in a world of contradiction
even more than you know a long long way to go
is there a way to paint the heavens out of grey
only wishing to change things for the better
for so it should be
is there an answer in the light that lies ahead
then perhaps it’s what people would call destiny
not knowing where, not knowing how
but the choice is bitter
without a way, without a word
to let out a feeling
wanting a change, wanting a sign
leading on tomorrow
one falling star to take your sorrow
seeing all that’s left behind
is a tiny pain in the corner of your mind
reflections are no longer recollections
in the silence of right a dawn is breaking
too late to turn, too far to see where you belonged
find a different way, a meaning for existence
to carry on
if in believing there was so much more to lose
would have never let love become the truth
if there’s a way to paint the heavens out of grey
only wishing to change things for the better
then so it should be
if there’s an answer in the light that lies ahead
it was meant to be that this will be our destiny
I hope you enjoyed this song as much as I do. I stayed up to get this written and posted. I don’t think I need to explain this song. It’s in English. The poetry in it is amazing. Well… *shrugs*

I won’t put it the song up for download on this page. If anyone wants it, please leave a comment here and I’ll send you an email.
This is the theme from one of the Japanese movies that I really really liked. Swallowtail / Yentown was directed by Shunji Iwai, a great director whose works are movies that I really liked as well.
Anyway, I’ve always liked to sing this song but I couldn’t find any karaoke for it. I heard it sung in an Idolm@ster Xenoglossia Character Single Kikuchi Makoto (Hirata Hiromi) and it made me want to sing it >_< even more. So … I found the chords here but it wasn’t that nice. I mean, it wasn’t that complete, no Intros or Extros or something. So I just added A - D - A - D for continuity.
I hope it sounds nice to other people’s ears. It sounds nice to me >___> (except when the strings make this weird sound). There’s also this part at the end where I should’ve filled it with something like “heeyyy yeaaaahhh” but bleh… I felt like my fingertips are about to split from playing the guitar too much. So… after like ten times of restarting from the start every time I make a mistake, I just did cut and move. =_= So you might hear weird changes in sound.
I got the link for the romanized lyrics with translation from wiki.theppn.org.

Well, I’ve been trying to sing this since the first day of the year, but there were a few things that hindered me.
First, there were fireworks until January 2. And they really kept on booming in the background. Second, because of the smoke from the fireworks and the change in my work schedule, I developed a cough. Third, I went somewhere. Fourth, I had work. Fifth, my sleep schedule was totally effed.
So… Finally, last night, I was able to record it somewhat properly before getting drunk.
And here it is… Chiisana Tenohira from the game, CLANNAD. I like this song better than the dango song.

I know I’m an advocate of anti-plagiarism, but since the one I copied from animelyrics.com had some mistakes in it, I fixed it and posted the lyrics here. So… Good. >_> I still give credit to the original romanizer, guuchan.
I had a long weekend, and what did I do? I sang and sang and sang. I know I’m not really that good, but who cares? On my website, I can believe that I’m great… right? Right? RIGHT!??? jk.
I was looking for the lyrics for LENA PARK’s English version of You Raise Me Up and I couldn’t really find one. Apparently, no one (or not a lot) bothered since the lyrics of Josh Groban’s version is just the same. But I found out that the order of the stanzas aren’t really very much the same. Just ALMOST. (lol.)
And so… just so there will be a result when someone searches for “LENA PARK - You Raise Me Up English Version” maybe this page will come up.
You Raise Me Up Lyrics: Brendan Graham
Music: Rolf Løvland
Arrangement: Masayuki Sakamoto / Satoshi Takebe
Original Vocals: LENA PARK
Copied by: Mi XD
Karaoke by: misan
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary
When troubles come and my heart burdened be
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence
Until you come and sit awhile with me
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up, to more than I can be
There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up, to more than I can be
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up, to more than I can be
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up, to more than I can be
You raise me up, to more than I can be

Here’s the Japanese version.
I like the Japanese lyrics better, maybe because it’s more befitting of my current mood. The Japanese lyrics, thanks to DarkMirage’s lyrics and translation of Inori~You Raise Me Up, is more about what the story of “Romeo and Juliet” is known for–star-crossed lovers, love that cannot be, the never-ending quest to attain that love…
It’s funny how the two versions are kind of contrasting and yet, complementing. The original English lyrics talks about how one gets motivated, or gets some hope, being strong. In the end, there’s the “other person” who’s there to guide you, to raise you up, who will BE there. No matter what happens, the “other person” will be with you…
In the Japanese lyrics, it’s also about having hope amidst the hopelessness. Continuing to hope, keeping up with the prayers with the hope that maybe, just maybe, the prayers will be heard. It’s full of uncertainty, as opposed to the certainty, the sureness in English lyrics.
” Even on those freezing, stormy nights,
Though you are still out of sight, I continue on.
Please tell me, ocean-crossing winds,
That my prayers will pass through time.”
It’s like how I am right now… or was. I wanted to believe that maybe, this is just a nightmare, that one day he’ll be back, and tell me that he was just joking, or wanted to surprise me. I thought to myself, maybe he’ll pop out of nowhere on Christmas Day, and he’ll be his own Christmas gift to me.
Apparently not.
I’m moving on. There’s no need for anyone else to raise me up, to give me hope. I have my own life.
