Lately, there’s been plenty of lay-offs, even with the call center industry. It was once thought that the call center industry would save the country’s economy, I think, but that might not be the case anymore. In the past couple of years, there’s been plenty of “schools” popping up here and there, that will train one to be a call center agent. Although I honestly never saw the point of those “schools,” they might be even more useless soon.
Right now, all I could do is to make sure I stay on my job, if not move up. It doesn’t matter now what kind of job you have these days, or where. The great lay-off could come at you any moment. Even Manhattan jobs won’t make a difference. There are lay-offs everywhere.
I think, instead of lay-offs, why not just decrease the pay. Give them a paycut, like 50%. At least they still have a job in a sense, albeit the pay is a little low, but I think it’s better than nothing. Cut a whole company’s salary into 50%? Lol. I don’t know. I’m not into business or anything, just a thought that came up. Having 500 or 900 people suddenly losing their jobs like that is just scary.
Actually, I never attended the first part. I just tagged along for Part 2 because I was free. Why not? Right?
According to raredog, it’s also site traffic. I’ve given up (before) making money with site traffic (not anymore, though), but I figured, even if not for the traffic, but to get to know people, I should go. And maybe there would be freebies to take home. I mean, I know it’s got free food (which was very good, by the way), but I would also like to take home something (I didn’t think I could bring home the food).
I went with Sarah and she introduced me to some people although I don’t remember all of them, nor do I think they would have remembered me since I’m a simple nobody.
I’m sick of this. I got another bad comment. Not that I care much, but it’s really getting annoying already.
I don’t check on Google results anymore for this keyword because I don’t really care. I did it for fun, thought it was fun, and now the fun is gone. I won’t deny that I am getting affected. Why does it feel like it’s just me? I don’t even really engage in SEO, I don’t have Google Ads and I don’t really care about traffic. At least, not anymore.
I don’t need SEO tricks for my blog.
I won’t even say I will quit or retire from SEO since I was never really into it. I just like blogging. I like spouting off random nonsense and occasional deep stuff, but right now, I don’t really have the time.
I’m setting the Pinay Scandal posts on Private locked. The password for these posts for those interested is . And please, stop bugging me about it.
This is a response to Sarah’s Top Ten YouTube Finds. I don’t really have a lot of favorites on YouTube. In fact, about half of my favorite’d videos don’t exist anymore and about half of all of the favorites are just covers. I seldom go YouTube hunting and when I do, it’s usually for concerts, covers, or music videos.
But here are some that I liked enough to favorite, in no specific order.
Less Than Three
Well… The Internet Is Serious Business. Some people even fall in Less Than Three.
Urban Ninja
This is just cool although it kind of looks fake. But it was really fun to watch.
Hilarious japanese library show
This is just … like the title–Hilarious. It’s in Japanese but you don’t really need to understand what they say. basically, 6 guys in a library making a fool of each other or torturing each other. And you know how it is in the library…
Caramell Dansen
This is from an anime that I don’t even know. But search for it on yt and you’ll find a lot of people dancing it. This video, however, is mesmerizing.
NOFX - The Idiots Are Taking Over
This is a conceptual typographic video. I’d say it’s a new form of art. It’s really nice and deep as well.
JerryC - Canon in D Rock
I ripped this into mp3 before. But my hard drive crashed before. So I don’t have the audio anymore. Thank God for yt.
NANO + HIMEKA - (not sure of the title)
Himeka finally went to Japan to pursue her dreams of being a singer. NANO’s a wonderful singer as well and I’m sure they just need to get that opportunity to get somewhere. Himeka’s one of my online buddies… more like acquaintances. We have a lot of disagreements but I have always acknowledged her talent. I LOVE her voice. But anywayz, enjoy her performance with NANO. Have I mentioned that I like NANO’s voice too? I LOVE NANO’S voice too. Check out NANO’s YouTube page and LJ as well. She’s got pretty good originals as well. I’d link Himeka’s pages too but … -_-; I wish she’d stop deleting her yt videos and the songs on her wp site.
NANO - Before Your Dreams Fade Away
This will probably be my favorite song of NANO’s. Just listen to it. The video might not be much, but the music will blow you away.
Last but not the least, one of my most favoritest singers, Mimi.
Mis - Aitai yo
Mimi would probably be my bestest friend online. I love her. I love her voice. What else could I say? Oh, check out her Soundclick page as well.
And so, because I subscribed to gL3nnX’s site and saw one post and so I decided to sign in and try. For the ad blocks or some shiatz, the site had to be reviewed. And so I submitted my beloved Miii and tried my luck.
Thanks for submitting your site to become a publisher with Project Wonderful! Our website review process forms an assessment of a website using a variety of criteria. These criteria include, but are not limited to, suitable content, ease of site navigation, and the website’s potential value to Project Wonderful and the experience of its members.Unfortunately your website, at http://miii.net, does not currently fulfill these requirements. The specific issue identified was:
- Content issues
We look for posts with original content and audience participation. When examining your site, we found that it appears to have one or more of the following issues: an overabundance of sponsored “review” posts, posts with content taken from third parties such as other web sites or Wikipedia, posts with little original material, and so on. While we respect your ability to build your site as you wish, we also reserve our right to exercise discretion when considering sites for Project Wonderful.
Let’s break that down.
an overabundance of sponsored “review” posts,
I guess the 50 or so posts I did for PPP and other sponsored review posts is such a big impact that the other 1,100+ posts are invalidated.
posts with content taken from third parties such as other web sites or Wikipedia,
I would assume this is the lyrics and the occasional Wiki snippets… maybe that makes up another 100 posts, just an estimate.
posts with little original material,
I couldn’t help but LOL at this. So the remaining 1000 or so posts are all bull? and taken from here and there? I guess rants and complaints about everyday life aren’t original. I guess my notes from school aren’t original. The lyrics I romanized or translated myself that got copied by other websites aren’t really original content. Heck, even my original poetry is not original content. I guess I don’t really have very little original material. Like this post I’m writing now. Yep. This is unoriginal.
and so on.
Maybe my blog qualifies in the “so on” part. I guess blogs full of “so on” just get denied.
Maa ii yo. Don’t mind what I said. I’m just a blogger scorned. I mean, I’m just a blogger with unoriginal content. Who cares, right?
I feel like I’m being picked on by certain people because of a certain post. Maybe my choice of words might be incorrect though. They’re just voicing their opinions. It’s just that it feels like their opinions are being forced on me.
Forgive my simplemindedness. But for me, SEO–Search Engine Optimization–optimizing keywords to gain traffic has the main purpose of making money. Why use SEO in the first place? Just to be popular?
I don’t make money out of SEO though. I’m not so into it either. In fact, if you look at my posts that are tagged with SEO, you’ll find only three posts. Three firetrucking posts. And yes, they’re all for THAT keyword. If you check out my posts tagged with Making Money Online, there isn’t much to see either. And they’re mostly about doing paid posts.
I’m not into studying and reading and researching. Heck, I don’t even read books now. SEO and online money-making takes a lot of research and studying–that much I know. And I’m not really interested.
So the big question… Am I making money online? Yes. It’s minimal. It’s extra income. But it’s not big. I don’t plan to make a career out of it. It’s just that for me now–extra income.
I’m not quite big into SEO or making money online. I have a full-time job that I like and I haven’t had a lot of time to blog. I don’t know why these Anti-”pinay scandal” posts seem to be linking back to me, but I’m not the only one in it, and I’m not even the one who thought of it.
My blog–my opinion. I believe you also think that way. Your blog–your opinion. Right? And no one can change that–unless you do paid blogging too and you have to write positively about something–which I avoid doing that’s why I’m only in one program right now.
PLEASE redirect your rants to the one who thought of it. kthxbai.
P.S. For the record, again, for the last time. I did not get banned from Googel adsense because of keyword hijacking. Again, kthxbai.
P.P.S. Thank you for visiting my site and linking me.
And so… My number one hit-maker for this website is my Pinay Scandal Video post, which was created through the suggestion of Marghil, whose blog I just happened to stumble upon one day through Eli’s links. I thought the idea was wonderful and I could give it a shot. It was successful. At one point, whenever I searched for the keyword Pinay Scandal, my post would be on the first page of both Google and Yahoo searches. Which is good. This, however, gave me a few problems, like exceeding my bandwidth. I had my webhost and sponsor, Page.PH, increase my alloted bandwidth so that my site won’t go down. They increased it from 10Gb to 15Gb and I ended the month of May with almost 13Gb of bandwidth. I’m thinking that I might have to have it increased again soon.
You know what’s funny about me joining this mini-SEO contest? I don’t have Googel Adsense. I don’t even have Googel Page Rank. So this doesn’t really benefit me monetarily. I don’t know how this is benefiting me at all, to be exact. Would it be helping the other posts in my site? I don’t really know at all. But just for the heck of it… *sigh* I hate you Googel! I do have other ads on my site, but it doesn’t seem to make a lot of money at all. I HATE YOU GOOGEL!
Anyway, back to the Pinay Scandal thing, here’s nella’s take on the Pinay Scandal keyword on her site, Petiks.com. My only reply to that would be… Does she herself go out and help the poor? Give out free rice now that we’re having food shortage and the inflation rate on everything is just not funny anymore? With SEO, at least some people earn. This isn’t just about getting rid of the sex scandal videos off the first page of Googel search. It’s also about making money online.
But anyways, here’s the update list of the Pinay Scandal hitlist (taken from Marghil’s post) … (sorry, I’m really lazy)
I’m so behind on my blog posts. Anyways…… On with it
Last Saturday after getting a new SIM card, I went to UP because I needed to get the tickets for the guests for the university graduation the next day, and since I’m there, I dropped by the iBlog4 event since I also registered anyway. I also wanted to meet with Sarah and raredog (since he was the one who told me to register anyway). And so I went.
I arrived around lunch time and Sarah said there’s free food. I had to register first and surprise surprise! My name isn’t on the list. At first I thought I registered under another name although I know I always register as Mi, but we checked under my other names, and there’s nothing. No sign of Mi.
Because of this, I won’t be linking to the iBlog4 event. I know it’s not really a big deal, but meh.
ANYWAYS, I met with Sarah and sat with her to one part of the program, about Vlogging and Podcasting (Maybe I should try podcasting again) and after the speakers were done, I also left. I wasn’t able to meet with Geri because I didn’t have signal inside the batcave Malcolm theater where the event was being held.
I went to Educ which was just in front of the College of Law, except that the Sunken Garden was between them. I wanted to traverse the displacement path to Educ but it rained hard the day before and some parts of the ground might be wet, so I had to go around. I waited a bit, got my souvenir programme and tickets, and realized that I had 5 P500 bills and I was out of change. So I went to one of the kiosks and bought 2 bottles of C2 Iced Tea, one apple and one lemon, one for me and one for Sarah (I asked her even if I had already bought it, I’m weird like that) and went back to Law. I also told Geri that I was coming back and that we could meet.
I almost gave up meeting Geri because of I got too engrossed chatting with Sarah but we eventually met up anyways. Right before I left. I told him I was going home. lol. He came out and we talked a bit and hailed a taxi for me coz I was really dead on my feet and needed to sleep… The funny thing was the taxi we got was on its way to iBlog4 as well and they were kind of lost. I wonder when our local taxis gps fleet tracking and dispatch cabs in places where there are none. That would be fun.
So anyway… That ends my iBlog4 part of the day. \o/
I ignored the bandwidth limit notices because I thought that I’d be able to manage, but somehow, it is exponentially increasing. I’m down to less than 800mb of bandwidth for the last 4 days days of the month. I don’t know if Miiinet will be able to stay online until the end of the month.
Maybe I should ask my webhost to increase my bandwidth limit… Or I could have my site hosted somewhere else. But I do recall my webhost sponsor mentioning something like just asking them if I need to increase bandwidth or disk space.
If Miiinet dies, I’ll be doing just that. I don’t think I can last every month wondering if I’ll be able to stay afloat.
Or… Anyone out there willing to sponsor Miiinet with unlimited bandwidth and space? XD jk
I like Page.PH, my sponsor. I haven’t had a downtime unlike my first webhost. And that wasn’t due to SEO getting used up. It was just a plain ol’ downtime on their side.
*crossing my fingers*
Oh, and I moved the banners and other images again as well. Hopefully, that will slow down the process of Miiinet running out of battery.
The new update of scribefire wherein you can have tabs is hateful. I always click on the x for the tab and it closes what I’ve written so far without saving it. Before it gets saved as a note automatically, and now it doesn’t. I hate it along with Wordpress 2.5.
These updates are really stupid.
[Edit] But because WP2.5 is a much worse pain in the behind, I’ll put up with scribefire and just tweak the post with wp2.5.
=_=
With these new updates, somehow, getting a blog post to go online takes longer now. [/Edit]
