Hana Yori Dango Anime

hana-yori-dango-anime

I just finished watching the anime version of Hana Yori Dango and although the Japanese and the Taiwanese (Meteor Garden) versions were also nice, I liked the anime too. The story is the same, but the ending and the last parts were somewhat different.

For the anime, Shigeru plotted so that Tsukasa and Tsukushi could be together and the evil mother finally let them be in the last episode.
In the Japanese drama, Shigeru left them alone so that they could be together and what was left was just the evil mother. And more events after that.
In the Taiwanese version … For the life of me, I can’t remember it anymore, but they had a lot of troubles with the mother first before they were able to get together.

I liked the Anime ending best although Tsukushi was a lot more indecisive. In the drama, Tsukushi was kind of stronger. In the Taiwanese version… UUGGHhh I need to rewatch it but I kind of remember Tsukushi (San Chai…not sure of spelling) also being stronger but more of a crybaby.

Tsukasa’s mom was scheming in all versions, although not as much in the anime version. But either way, you might have wanted her to just stay in New York where she belongs.

Hmmm… I think it would be nice to go on some New York City travel? What’s to see in New York anyway? Aside from the Statue of Liberty?

Aaaahhhh I want to go somewhere =_=;;

Watching Hana Yori Dango kind of made me envious of rich people. lol.

Veoh.com

Yes, that’s what I’ve been busy with lately. After AznV.tv, Veoh.com would probably be my second favorite video streaming site. I like Veoh better for anime because I won’t have to use my precious premium account for something that I can watch somewhere else. Quality-wise, for anime, they’re just about the same. My main problem with aznv is just that I don’t think they ever had mac users in mind to begin with. I have to use VLC which is something I don’t really like.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have a really huge screen with theater seating

Did you know that soon, analog TVs and Radios are going to be replaced by iTVs and iRadios and so on? It’s not really too far in the future for the US or other really developed countries like Japan and Korea, but for the Philippines, that would take maybe 50 more years.

[Karaoke] One More Time, One More Chance

Ready for more crappy singing? Yes, right?
Well well. Here is my version of One More Time, One More Chance. I might re-sing it someday if I ever remember or feel like doing it. But this will be it for now. I might be going out later to buy a new cabinet for my noodles and maybe check on some treadmills because I’m so out of exercise now…

[Lyrics, Translation] One More Time, One More Chance

lyrics-translation-one-more-time-one-more-chance

There’s this song that I heard a couple of months back. It’s the anime movie Byousoku 5cm or 5cm per Second. Well, the song is old. I know I’ve heard it somewhere before when I heard it from the movie… I mean, when they used it for the anime, it was kind of like a revival, as what we would call it here. And the movie is actually a series of segments, or short films, basically about relationships and distance.

I liked the movie, although I can’t give a full review right now. I’ll have to watch it again. But I kind of was able to relate to this movie. It was a little slow all throughout the movie… as if it was moving 5cm per second, but it was at a pace wherein you wouldn’t want it to rush nor slow down.

For a person like me who’s got a lot of close friends online, who I might not ever meet, distance is such a big thing and a small thing at the same time. The distance doesn’t keep us apart from being friends, but there are times when you wish the distance wasn’t there at all.

The ending song for the movie was what made me think of a lot of things. It made me think of the past, the present, and the future. Even before I was able to find a translation, just the mood of the song and from what little I could understand from it made me think about the what if’s in my life… the what could’ve been’s… It made me think of the things I wanted when I was a child, and the things I wanted and never got, which is probably a lot. It made me think about the dolls I saw and wanted and never got. It made me think of the other toys I had wanted. It made me think of the playhouses and the swing sets I wanted to have.

For the present, it made me think of the things I have to go through now, the things I let go in the past and now living with regrets and what I’ve got left, the things that make me ask myself, “Am I Happy?”

For the future, it made me think, or wonder, if I’ll be in the same state or the same place where I am now. Will I be able to move on for good, and all that emo stuff.

Ah.. Well… Here is the song that I want to share today. The translation is from Hunting the Elusive and lyrics itself can also be found in one of the comments.

[Lyrics, Karaoke] Chiisana Tenohira

lyrics-karaoke-chiisana-tenohira

Well, I’ve been trying to sing this since the first day of the year, but there were a few things that hindered me.

First, there were fireworks until January 2. And they really kept on booming in the background. Second, because of the smoke from the fireworks and the change in my work schedule, I developed a cough. Third, I went somewhere. Fourth, I had work. Fifth, my sleep schedule was totally effed.

So… Finally, last night, I was able to record it somewhat properly before getting drunk.

And here it is… Chiisana Tenohira from the game, CLANNAD. I like this song better than the dango song.

[Karaoke] LENA PARK - Inori / ~You Raise Me Up

karaoke-lena-park-inori-you-raise-me-up

I had a long weekend, and what did I do? I sang and sang and sang. I know I’m not really that good, but who cares? On my website, I can believe that I’m great… right? Right? RIGHT!??? jk.

I was looking for the lyrics for LENA PARK’s English version of You Raise Me Up and I couldn’t really find one. Apparently, no one (or not a lot) bothered since the lyrics of Josh Groban’s version is just the same. But I found out that the order of the stanzas aren’t really very much the same. Just ALMOST. (lol.)

And so… just so there will be a result when someone searches for “LENA PARK - You Raise Me Up English Version” maybe this page will come up.

You Raise Me Up
Lyrics: Brendan Graham
Music: Rolf Løvland
Arrangement: Masayuki Sakamoto / Satoshi Takebe
Original Vocals: LENA PARK
Copied by: Mi XD
Karaoke by: misan

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary
When troubles come and my heart burdened be
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence
Until you come and sit awhile with me

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up, to more than I can be

There is no life - no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up, to more than I can be

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up, to more than I can be

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders
You raise me up, to more than I can be

You raise me up, to more than I can be

——————————–

Here’s the Japanese version.

I like the Japanese lyrics better, maybe because it’s more befitting of my current mood. The Japanese lyrics, thanks to DarkMirage’s lyrics and translation of Inori~You Raise Me Up,  is more about what the story of “Romeo and Juliet” is known for–star-crossed lovers, love that cannot be, the never-ending quest to attain that love…

It’s funny how the two versions are kind of contrasting and yet, complementing. The original English lyrics talks about how one gets motivated, or gets some hope, being strong. In the end, there’s the “other person” who’s there to guide you, to raise you up, who will BE there. No matter what happens, the “other person” will be with you…

In the Japanese lyrics, it’s also about having hope amidst the hopelessness. Continuing to hope, keeping up with the prayers with the hope that maybe, just maybe, the prayers will be heard. It’s full of uncertainty, as opposed to the certainty, the sureness in English lyrics.

” Even on those freezing, stormy nights,
Though you are still out of sight, I continue on.
Please tell me, ocean-crossing winds,
That my prayers will pass through time.”

It’s like how I am right now… or was. I wanted to believe that maybe, this is just a nightmare, that one day he’ll be back, and tell me that he was just joking, or wanted to surprise me.  I thought to myself, maybe he’ll pop out of nowhere on Christmas Day, and he’ll be his own Christmas gift to me.

Apparently not.

I’m moving on. There’s no need for anyone else to raise me up, to give me hope. I have my own life.

[Lyrics] Sora no Yume

I personally don’t really like this song. It sounds too eerie. And creepy. But that’s just me.

Anyway, this is the third ending of ef ~ a tale of memories ~ and the single is called Andante. The translation of the title is The Sky’s Dream … I think… I’m not sure. lol. someone correct me if I’m wrong. That goes with the lyrics too. it was just a quick romanization. orz.

Someone requested for the translation of this song. This is the KimiKiss ~ pure rouge ~ Ending or ED theme. The translation was made by xess of m.3.3.w Fansubs. You can find the lyrics here.

Negaiboshi
Artist: Snow*
Translation: xess

It looks like it’s about to fall apart. So precious that I couldn’t touch it
I won’t forget the wish on the star
The strange box lying in the corner of the classroom;
I won’t show it to anyone. I always pretend not to see it
The first time you walked me home during that starry night
I still haven’t eaten that fruit
I struck it with all my might. I cried and I screamed
I’m certain nerves are made from silk and steel
My insuppressible feelings are cast on a wishing star
It’s now time to run. Beyond the door are diamonds.
Thousands of dreams transcribed onto a notebook
Whenever I’m trapped I’m go see you

One by one, we become adults
Next to friendship sits a slightly jealous heart
Thus, incorrect reasons are lined up
and inside the beautiful bowl are countless loves

It began suddenly. You appeared
All the world turned into gold and prismatic shades

I don’t believe in tears too beautiful, however
perhaps reflecting from your eyes now
are thousands wishing stars showering down
What did you see in that moment?

I realised that the seasons will eventually change
And I cried a little.

My insuppressible feelings are cast on a wishing star
Now is the time to run. Beyond the doorway are diamonds
Thousands of dreams transcribed onto a notebook
If I’m trapped I’ll go see you

The sparkle and eternity are cut short
We made a promise with a kiss on that day
It looks like it’s about to fall apart. So precious that I couldn’t touch it
I won’t forget the wish on the star

I just started watching KimiKiss ~ pure rouge ~ recently and though I can’t say I really like it, I think I want to continue watching it.

Because of a request from someone from the Baka-Wolf forum, I’m also going to post the lyrics to the ED theme, since I also posted the OP theme. The romanization and translation was done by xess, one of the translators of m33w-fansubs.
