Girls Night Out / Lori’s BDay!

girls-night-out-loris-bday

Last Tuesday, I was so frustrated with my last call and the new announcement that I was crying at work. Two weeks ago, our new schedule was announced and that the change of schedule would be from Saturday to Sunday, so from closing shift to opening shift, we’d kind of have a day off. So, I announced this to my Amigaz and since this would be a good time to go out with them because it’s Lori’s birthday the next day. But that day, they announced that it was going to be Sunday to Monday instead… I’ll talk about my call in another post… but in any case, I was so frustrated that I was crying.

On the way home, I sent a message to my Team Leader and whined about it.

When I got home, I got a message from my teammate Melvin with a message from TL asking me to call him. At first, I was stubborn and didn’t want to call him because I already told my Amigas the bad news… but I called him anyway.

He asked me what was I whining about and I whined some more. Then he asked me, “Don’t you understand why?”

“I don’t understand it that’s why I’m whining!”

He explained and explained, but I still don’t understand. I still think it’s unfair. But he suddenly told me that someone canceled a leave that was already filed and approved… and he said if I wanted, he’ll file it for me! W00T!?

Sooo.. I was able to go out with the girls.

We ate at Cyma (Read Sarah’s review] and interestingly, with my camera phone, I only took pics of the food. And Lori asked me to do the honor of the prayer before meal for her … she called it my once-a-year prayer (which is true =X)

After that, we had too much time to kill before we could go watch The Dark Knight. We went to the restroom and the girls prettified themselves while I only washed my face with paper soap (coz I came straight from work and I look haggard already). I’m glad though that even with my ungodly work hours, I don’t get a lot of pimples so I don’t really need major treatments for acne and I don’t need a lot of makeup because I’ve got a natural blush (I’m vain) and I also don’t need to use a comb to get my hair to behave because I can just run my fingers through it and it behaves (and I always tie it up anyway).

Enough of my oversized vanity.

We went to Starbucks to kill time. I got Lori White Mocha Frappe and a brownie (Forgot what it’s called) and I drank Whole Milk (It’s free!)

We went by Burger King because we’re supposed to get a free meal there, but we kind of decided to just drop by after the movie. Because I asked them what do we have to do, and the girl said we’re going to be given a free meal each and then we need to eat it there, and we need to observe their service, the food, the place, and answer a survey afterwards.

Going to the theater, we passed by AstroVision and Lo and Behold, the earphones that I’ve been drooling over for more than a year and been searching for months was in stock. Without really looking at the price, I said I wanted it. I only really looked at the price when I was getting money from my wallet and realized that I didn’t have enough cash (hahaha)! Good thing they accept EPS so I just paid with my ATM card. It’s a Philips in-ear ear-hook earphone thingie. Having the best of both worlds! (And yes, it sounds great, and No, I won’t leave it lying around anymore for my dog to eat).

And off to the movies! I realized that I don’t know how to do math anymore because I was insisting that 180*4 = 640 and that we got overcharged. Until I actually brought out my phone and did that math -_-;

The Dark Knight movie was … disappointing. Maybe because of what happened that night… I’ll just link that post here. But nonetheless, I came home happy! It’s so nice to be with friends after a long long time!

Cellphone in the Fridge and the Last Train

cellphone-in-the-fridge-and-the-last-train

Last night, I went out with my amigas Lori, Sara, and Sarah. We ate at Cafe Bola for dinner and then at Max Brenner for desserts. I was supposed to go to UnionBank first to make a deposit, but I left the house somewhat late, almost an exact calculation that I’ll reach the bank just in time before it closes. But when I arrived in EDSA, I realized that I had left my cellphone. I left my cellphone inside the refrigerator. I sighed, got off the jeepney and crossed the street. Hailed another jeepney and went home. I’ll make a bank deposit some other time. I can’t meet with my friends without a phone because you never know what comes up.

Going to Makati, I felt lazy walking to GMA station so I took a bus. I planned to get off two stations from GMA but when I was there, I couldn’t get off immediately so I’ll be walking, so I told the conductor that I’ll just get off somewhere else. And I did. And I realized that I was so stupid that I really should’ve taken the train instead. I would’ve saved about half my total fare on my way to the meeting place. Sarah arrived after 7 and we kind of got lost going to Cafe Bola. We had to ask where it was because Lori forgot where it was. When we arrived there, Sara just arrived as well.

At Cafe Bola, I ordered Spicy Green Curry with Carambola

Sleepless Days

sleepless-days

I can’t sleep! It’s really so hard to sleep during the day when you know the sun is up.

I made a deal with my parents a couple of days ago. I’ll clean up my room and allow them to move stuff around so that I could use the air conditioner. Because it’s so freakin’ hot and muggy during the day that I couldn’t sleep at all.

And I thought that would make a difference. My mother was even thoughtful enough to put curtains in my room so that it’s a little dark even during the day. But no. It’s still so hard to sleep.

The air conditioner is old and wasn’t in operation for about 2 or 3 years. It’s a wonder it’s still working right now. However, it’s not really that cold. Sure, it’s not muggy. It’s a lot better than not having it at all. But it just doesn’t cool down the whole room like how I want it to be. I think the styrofoam on the ceiling needs to be replaced. Maybe I need carpeting! I’d like to have something like home theater carpet so that it feels like I’m in a real cinema while I’m watching my J-Drama, but I don’t really think that’s necessary.

So… I’m with an air conditioner, but my fan is still on too. But I have it oscillating so it’s all good.

I can’t sleep. I can’t sleep.

Lori’s Standard Time (LoST)

I met with Lori yesterday and we watched Stardust. But before that, of course there was planning. And before we met, she called me up for a final confirmation.

Anyway, at the end of the conversation…

Mi: So… 1 pm, right?
Lori: Yeah, 1 pm.
Mi: That means 2 pm right?
Lori: No, around 1:30.

XD We ended up meeting at almost 2pm because of lack of public transportation. =_=

\o/

STARDUST WAS GREAT!

I really went to the mall with Loraine without any idea on what she wanted to watch since I didn’t know anything about what’s out in the theaters so I just went along with what she wanted. But I certainly don’t regret going with what she wants (I hardly disagree with her, and she gives great opinions).

Stardust sent us flying past the Stratosphere and back to Earth!

… I know, I know. I know what you’re thinking. I just had to do it. >__>
