Today, at work, I saw someone from high school. She was never my classmate, but our classes, being just two in our curriculum or cluster, we are kind of close, or if not close, we would know each other by name at the very least.
I was just surprised to see her. I’ve changed my name at work, using my phone name as the name people call me, because that’s also my name online, and she insisted on calling me by the nickname I used in high school.
It’s just funny, because she used to blog a lot like me, and slowly her blog posts started to become less frequent, to almost never. I can’t even remember now when was her last blog post. It’s not that I really read her blog, but I do have her feeds on my Google Reader.
And looking at myself lately, when I first started working, I was still somehow able to manage to blog 3-4 times a week. And then it was down to 2-3, down to once a week, and now sometimes, a week passes without any blog posts from me.
And seeing her at work, she said that she’s been with the company since 2006… and with how it had affected her blogging… I’m a little afraid that I see the trend happening with me. I’m scared.
Blogging may not be my life, but blogging does make me happy most of the time. But now, I can only blog about random thoughts. I seldom write well thought-of blog posts these days because of the time constraints and the stress and fatigue from work. And it’s not just my blog posts that started dwindling. My online presence on IRC has greatly to almost disappeared. Sure, I try to drop by every week or every other week, but my MInions have been complaining about my disappearance.
I’m losing my online life. Sure, there’s Plurk and FaceBook and little random what-nots, but it’s still different from my eternal presence in my kingdom.
It’s also funny that now that I’m blogging less, I’ve become more interested in Blogger events that just never fit my schedule right.
It doesn’t help that my Computer is still in a coma.
Enough Rants and back to work la!
