Strict Firewall is Strict.

The firewall at work is sometimes ridiculously unreasonably strict. I understand if it blocks Facebook or myspace and whatnot, but for it to block some necessary websites like Yahoo Mail which we need in troubleshooting simetimes, I just end up laughing and relying on memory. And since I don’t really use Yahoo Mail as my main email, I just thank my program that we’ve got a remote control tool.

There are also some websites that are blocked, like eBay and Amazon. I understand that we would have no business in browsing Amazon books at work, but I don’t think it’s harmful or as detrimental to work like Facebook. I wonder what websites the IT people actually block, or what keywords they use to filter websites…

Whatcha think?
