MMMiii!

I bought an external hard drive last November. It was a WD Elements Portable 320Gb. I bought one because MiBook only has 60gb and i’m constantly left with only 500mb and it’s such a pain to have to delete stuff all the time, over and over.

I like watching drama and anime and I love to listen to music… and there’s just not enough space, with my desktop dead and my external drives for it don’t seem to work on the macbook… I just gave up and got myself an external drive. Kind of my present to myself for getting promoted.

So far, I haven’t had any troubles with the drive. It’s plugged in all the time even with the macbook off, although the light stays on because I don’t unplug it. I’ve already dropped it once, and it still works fine. What I like about it is it’s really just plug-and-play. No need to run any disks or anything and there are no fancy features that I needed to pay extra for that I know I wouldn’t have used. It also has rubberized corners, maybe for anti-slip or shock-guards? It doesn’t heat up either so I’m not afraid of it overheating. I just put it behind the macbook and it just sits there untouched, getting dusty though.

I know it’s a little messy. I’ve already cleaned that up a little. I have a lot of USB stuff plugged in, like the mouse and keyboard, because the macbook’s keyboard and trackpad died and I have no intention of having it fixed in the near future. I can’t afford to get it fixed when it’s working pretty fine with this set up.

My friend said I have never heard of Cable Management, but I think this is very organized already, don’t you think?

I was listening to Hikki’s Travelling and I thought about travelling again. Lori mentioned that she couldn’t get tickets for HK so… I was thinking that maybe I should start booking flights as soon as … soon.

I’m not particularly fond of her video or of the song, but it’s catchy.

Anyways, I wonder when will I be rich enough to go on some European cruises? Are there cruises in Asia? Somehow the popular cruises that I hear about are in the Carribean on in the Mediterranean or places in the West.

I want to go on a Spratleys Islands Cruise, if there is such a thing.

I bought my air-conditioner April 15th, a day or two after record breaking hot days in my city, to the point that I couldn’t sleep a wink because of it. I got desperate and without thinking clearly, I bought one and even brought on to myself more headaches in the process.

A day or two after I got my AC, after my room was set up so that the cold air of the AC doesn’t get wasted, it started raining almost everyday. Since my room’s windows have been closed and covered already, I didn’t bother opening them anymore and I still continued to use my AC.

I have a bunk bed and I have a curtain covering the bottom bunk because… well, for various reasons. One, it darkens my bottom bunk which helps a lot because I sleep in the day, and two, people go in and out of my room without caring if I’m asleep or not. It doesn’t matter if I lock the door. They get the key anyway and unlock it and do their business. It doesn’t matter if I put a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door knob on the outside, it gets ignored. One time I even put some sticky gooey thingie on both inside and outside knobs but they didn’t care for it. They must have just thought that some person ate something sticky and opened my door without washing their hands.

Having worked for more than a year at my current job, I’ve gotten pretty much used to this set up already. But now that I’ve got AC, my dog loves my room now. Before he would take every chance to escape from my room when I want him to stay inside. He can’t be coaxed to come out until he needs to go out and do his thing. Even my mother, with my dog as an excuse, keeps staying in my room, because it’s colder here.

Pop was wanting to roll out a cushion on my floor and sleep in my room because it’s cold… which I flat out refused.

I sleep a lot better now… now… I wonder how much will I be paying for the electricity? Orz… will I start getting power bill nightmares?

I got a call today and I really would have laughed a little if I wasn’t nice. The nice old lady was getting her services installed–IPTV, VoIP, and Internet. She didn’t have a phone device yet, but that was fine. Usually they would work as soon as you plug them into a phone jack. The TVs were okay, and the tech was able to get that working.

But regarding the internet, the customer didn’t have a computer yet. I mean, sure it’s fine as long as her computer’s going to be a desktop that’s going to be connected through internet. But she hasn’t decided at that time what kind of computer she’s going to get. I was going to offer a call back so that I can make sure she gets online… but when I asked when she would be able to get a computer, she said maybe in 2-3 weeks.

I was just amazed. Well… 2-3 weeks wouldn’t give me a problem anymore, so I didn’t offer my callback anymore.

I wonder if this service is already available in Outer Banks, NC? Nice beaches, it seems. I don’t think it would be as expensive like the popular vacation places or beaches, and if ever I go there, I want to experience this product I’m supporting.

Why? Because I’ve been spending so much lately. I bought an air conditioner just recently and I don’t know yet how the bill will look like.

When I checked yesterday, the exchange rate with paypal was something like US$ 1.00 = PhP 47.135. Now… I haven’t checked yet. But with the trend of the gasoline prices going up, I think I should wait a little more. It’s not exactly what conversion rate optimization is, but making sure that I get the best conversion rate or exchange rate for my munnies.

I need to get the maximum amount I can get! \o/

This isn’t anything special… don’t bother reading if you’re not interested about my day. lol.

These past few days, I’ve hardly been able to sleep. It’s not about the changing schedules weekly. I’ve adapted to that already. It’s the heat that’s seriously killing me. It’s too freaking hot lately. It’s only mid-April. I’m pretty sure that this kind of heat is something for May. Days peaking at 36C in mid-April… I can just imagine how May will be. And seriously… Weather and Temper are on the rise. A nice vacation would be really nice right now, somewhere far, far away without the stress of work and the heat… if I had more money, I’d take a look at vacation packages, maybe overseas like Orlando vacations would be nice as well, but local beaches would also be good, if ever I liked beaches. But I need a change of pace, of scenery, and of temperature.

So yesterday, I went home early from work in the hopes of catching much needed sleep that I have hardly been getting lately. But when I was just about to have it in my grasp, Pop incessantly bugged me until I had to get up. My yesterday was pretty much about trying to sleep. But it was just too hot. I think I managed to fall asleep around 4pm already or so. But Papa had to wake me up around 6 for dinner. Oh yes. Since it’s too hot to continue sleeping, I let him be and stepped out to the dining room for dinner.

On and off, still trying to catch sleep… I went out with my cousin around 2:30 am today to get some Halo-Halo, a Filipino snack of shaved ice and random ingredients. Still… on and off, trying to catch some sleep… still not able to.

Around 10am, my salary came in and I told Mama that I needed to buy the spicy chocolate drink that I’m addicted to lately. So around 11, we left for the mall. It took us almost 30 minutes just to get a cab. Why is it that when you don’t need cabs, they’re always hovering around you, even stopping in front of you… and when you need them, they’re nowhere to be found, or they’re all occupied?

Like hell I would. No! It’s so hot.
Right now… i’m melting…

And because it’s so hot, I like drinking cold drinks… especially soda. It just hits the spot in this temperature. All that sugar doesn’t help in my diet, I know… but… still…

Well, one thing that would be good with chugging soda every now and then is I don’t get the urge to eat, like appetite suppressants.

I’m just defending myself, I know. I’m contradicting myself, I know. Oh, I don’t know. Whatever. Argh

I’m planning to get the water heater with shower thingie because I’m getting tired of heating water in a big pail then using the dipper to bathe. I’m too lazy. We’ve actually already developed a system here at home. Once I’m on my way home, I send a message to Pop saying that I’m on my way home then it’s time for him to plug in the heater so that by the time I get home, after I finish eating I could already take my bath.

There are times that I run out of hot bath water, and sometimes it gets too hot that I have to wait a little, or it’s gets too cold because I waited a little too long so I heat it again a little… and the cycle goes on and I just give up and deal with it. But having an instant water heated would really be lovely.

So… I’m thinking about where to buy. I do wish that we have a website here like Buy.com wherein it seems like everything is always on sale. Whenever I look at the website to compare for prices (so I know if I’m being ripped off by a local dealer or merchant), I can’t help but be envious and wish a little that I live in the US. Just a little, though. I’m quite happy with where I am.

I guess the equivalent of Buy.com here would be … kind of… like Tipidpc. When I bought my Canon Digital Ixus 85 IS, I saw a posting of someone selling it for half the price I bought it for from the mall. But the catch with that one was the seller didn’t have a store, only means of contact is through SMS, and the warranty is only for service, parts not included. Knowing myself, who breaks stuff even while taking care of things, I didn’t think that would be a good deal.

With buy.com though, you can get some sort of guarantee, so at least I think you would really get the value of what you’re paying for. At least, that’s what I think. Feel free to correct me. Well… maybe for refurbished stuff, especially with electronics, I might really be wrong, but for some other things like wallets and what not, it might be a good deal.

I’m …. still not serious about dieting!

I know that diet pills don’t work as good if you don’t do your part too. In my case, I really love eating. I really really do. And lately, if I don’t like the food, either Mama cooks instant noodles for me or I cook them by myself.

And my friend who used to be heavier than me is now lighter. >_< *glares at the friend with contempt*

I was thinking of dieting for the Hong Kong trip that I’m planning on the 3rd quarter of this year… but meh… with the stress at work, I want to eat and eat noodles.

I try to drink fruit juice like pineapple juice and orange juice with pulp, so at least I’ve got my fiber. I eat vegetables as much as possible whenever I buy food in the pantry. I give my snacks to my mother… but still… I think if I can only remove noodles from my diet, life would really be a lot easier.

It’s so evil!
