Words and Terms

words-and-terms

Have you ever questioned some words or terms and why they are like that? I’m sure you have. Take french fries for example. They’re not made of French people but it came to a point that they were renamed to freedom fries. But really, french fries are just the way it was cooked. As if Soylent green was made from soil…

I came across ball lock pins and saw some pictures. I didn’t see any balls, nor pins. So why?

And so I tried wiki-ing it. I chanced upon this wiki entry, Cornelius Kegs. It mentioned about ball-locks and pin-locks, and that they’re primarily used for kegs. If you look at a picture of them two, they don’t really have a lot of difference, but these terms cannot be used interchangeably. Ball-locks were primarily used by Pepsi, and pin-locks by Coke.

Well… that’s about it.

Oh, and by the way, in case you didn’t know…
