Sharing Extras

sharing-extras

When I re-arranged my room, I found out that I had a lot of girly pampering stuff. I had a lot of facial washes, lotions, moisturizers, acne clearer, shampoos, hair conditioners, powders, and so on. Some even had doubles of the same brand and kind. They come in large, small, and packet sizes. I realized how bad that habit of mine is–buying stuff that I think I need and end up not using them.

These products are just the things that I have accumulated in less than a year for most of them. Some I’ve had for 2 or more years and I’ve barely touched.

I’m crazy and stupid and wasteful, I know.

Anyways, I’ve got this officemate who I’m being particularly close with. Ever since Mau left the company for study purposes, the person I hang out a lot with now is Jennie. She’s nice, sweet, round, and cool-headed. And she loves to share her stuff with me, like her food or lotion. And she’s a no non-sense person who hates wasting things that can still be used. She really shook her head at me when she found out my habits.

I decided to give her some of my extras and she was really very happy about it. I didn’t sell them to her at a discounted price (because some where literally untouched) which is what I would normally do. I Just gave them to her. My payment would be her picking up my “trash” (they’ll end up as trash in a couple of months, I bet).

We also share the love of food. Actually, what made me notice her during training days was that she would always eat instant noodles. I felt a kinship. And I found out later as well that she’s into sales and free products like me.

When I brought the instant lemon cheesecake that I made (it was 50% off), she really loved it, to the point that she visited the grocery store where I bought it from to see if she could get one as well (although there was really none left by the time she visited). She found a different instant cheesecake instead (by Jell-O, which was good. I want to buy that too) and brought some for me.

Recently, my mother’s sister gave us a lot of frozen Milkfish and spicy Milkfish Bits (Bangus Sisig). The Bangus Sisig, according to my aunt, is not available locally because it is an export product. It is very delicious that it could be my new addiction. We were given 24 packs of it. We’ve been having it every morning ever since. Mama gave 4 packs to Iks last night and I also asked my mother if I could give one to Jennie. She said yes. When I told her that I gave Jennie just one piece, she said I should’ve given at least three. After all, we had a lot of it.

But then I’m greedy as well and since I really love it and it might be some time before we can get our stocks refreshed, just one would suffice. I bring some to work anyway and I share.

I also share my instant Apple Iced Tea powdered juice with Jennie. Because I have too much.

Sharing is nice. This is coming from a greedy person like me. *sigh*
