Coke Bloggers Event Part 2
Actually, I never attended the first part. I just tagged along for Part 2 because I was free. Why not? Right?
According to raredog, it’s also site traffic. I’ve given up (before) making money with site traffic (not anymore, though), but I figured, even if not for the traffic, but to get to know people, I should go. And maybe there would be freebies to take home. I mean, I know it’s got free food (which was very good, by the way), but I would also like to take home something (I didn’t think I could bring home the food).
I went with Sarah and she introduced me to some people although I don’t remember all of them, nor do I think they would have remembered me since I’m a simple nobody.
The people I sat with on the table were:
- Marcelle Fabie, my brother’s friend from high school and a DJ
- Arpee Lazaro, a food blogger
- Noreen Ponce-Lazaro, a teacher
- Tess Termulo, a doctor
Other random people I met were
- Aileen Apolo, I think she’s one of the organizers?
- Geri a.k.a. raredog (although I knew him already) and his kid, Sean Kirk
- Faith aka tanggera, who was actually my classmate once in Educ
People (plurk pals) who were there but I didn’t meet:
Did I miss anyone else?
Anyway, it was somewhat fun (especially watching the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony) but I think it would have been more fun if I had more than an hour of sleep that day or if I made an effort to ask for cellphone numbers and actively tried to meet people… but I’m shy
.
I didn’t really talk much even if I were on the table with other people. I was just a listener, like when Tess and Arpee were talking about diet drinks and diet pills, and about some of the patients Tess gets. Arpee shared a story about two drunk men who died fighting about whether this particular person’s hair was a wig or real (and it turned out that they were both wrong because the correct answer was implants).
About the winners for the event, I’m afraid I only enjoyed two of the video entries. One made it, but not the top prize, and the other one didn’t make it at all. I didn’t enjoy them, maybe because they were buffering and they didn’t show the complete videos.
In either case, I enjoyed. I took home a total of ten bottles of the orange juice thing and 2 cans of Coke Zero. Yes, my bag was heavy. But it was so fun!
I was also caught plurking with Sarah by themusicblogger

@Prudence: Nice meeting you too! I’m afraid I won’t be able to attend the WordCamp. Aside from not being able to register (and registration is already closed), my schedule will not permit it.
