Warranty VS Price VS Quality

warranty-vs-price-vs-quality

I ordered laptop RAM from my boss. It’s a little pricey and it’s not exactly genuine Mac memory. It’s more expensive than what I can get from PCX but the warranty will be for 2 years, as compared to 1 year from PCX. Last time I checked the PCX price for the Kingston 1GB laptop RAM was P1180 and from my boss, it’s P1450. That’s a lot of difference, I know. P270*2 = P540. I could eat out twice or thrice depending where for that amount already. But then, if I buy from the mac store itself (I can’t remember what they call their shop), it’s three times my boss’s price, so never mind.

I also ordered a Power Supply Unit from him. Generic Twin Fan at 350W. I bought a Dynamo PSU from PCX less than a year ago as well. About 7 or 8 months ago. PCX warranty for the PSU was only 6 months. I can’t remember the price anymore, but the Dollar exchange was a lot higher that time so it was pricier as well. Since it’s out of warranty and it’s broken, I can’t have it replaced anymore. The warranty will be 1 year for my boss’ source so…

About the memory, should I be sacrificing a cheaper price for a longer warranty?

About the PSU, should I sacrifice quality over price and dire need?

I DO want to get my Computer back up and running as soon as possible but the better brands are not available from my boss’ source. I’m eyeing the Enermax which is very expensive and I do NOT want that to have just half a year of warranty.

Yes, I keep talking about warranty. I’m really considering that a lot now ever since my PSU died on me in just over 6 months.

Warranty really sucks big time here and quality is just something that can’t be guaranteed anymore. I just want to be sure that the amount of time of the warranty is at least a little more than the time it will or might fail on me.

Lifetime warranty doesn’t seem to exist or is pointless in this country. My boss originally got me Transcend RAM and it says there it’s Lifetime warranty, and to check the warranty card for its terms, but the vendor has already removed the warranty card. So it’s really stupid.
