Goodbye, Summer 2008

Summer’s actually been long over. It’s been raining a lot sometime early May so it kind of ended early. Although it’s still very hot sometimes.

I bought a 6-pack of dehumidifiers at the start of April from Japan Home (Everything P88!) and I had all 6 strategically placed inside my room. They’re almost all filled with water now. But it was still constantly humid. This summer was so very hot and humid that I even tried having the air-con repaired. I even wasted money on this air cooler that’s really a piece of junk instead of an ingenious innovation. In the end, I still felt sticky upon waking up that I would need to shower before and after sleeping… as if I do that. Since I’m too lazy to do that, I just shower when I wake up. A little uncomfortable until I fall asleep though.

Maybe I should’ve got high-powered basement dehumidifiers… because my room was like a freaking sauna room last April mostly because of the humidity.

However, Summer of 2008 wasn’t all that bad.

I graduated from University.

I got my last Sign-In bonus from work.

I had my birthday.

My team won in the Fierce Fashion Show at work.

I spent a lot.

I baked and baked (too much, there’s still brownies and cake at Iks’ place).

I went to a spa and had a full body massage.

The spa I went to had a hot bath/jacuzzi where you had to be naked.

hmm… what else. I don’t know anymore.

That’s all for now.

Getting Married

getting-married

Nope, not me. But my 40+ year old aunt. She’s getting married this September and I can’t believe how impractical she is in some ways. She lives in Australia now with her husband-to-be and she wants to get married here in the Philippines. She constantly asks Iks and Eelai to run the errands for her like processing papers and stuff. She’s paying them for gas and other expenses but still, I kind of find this a little too impractical.

But I’m kind of excite for her as well. She’s probably longed for this day forever and finally it will be her big day. Ever since she moved to Australia I know she hasn’t really pampered herself much so I guess she would really want to be a bit extravagant on this wedding of hers.

One thing I like about events like these is the invitations. I saw this site for Quinceanera invitations with the theme of girl to woman, basically the girl’s debut. Not exactly nuptial invitations but I guess she’s always been considered the baby of the family and it’s now her time to be a lady.

A~ah. Cheers to her.
