Make Your Own Logo

I wasn’t particularly wanting to make a new logo being busy with work and all that, but I stumbled upon this kind of DIY (Do It Yourself) logo design wherein you can create your own logo, customize it to your own liking and match it with your industry as well, and it also looks very professional. You also have the option to have your logo printed on business cards, also professional looking. And so I played around with the demo and took a screenshot of the end products, the logo itself and one of the business card designs.

Miii! ~Say it out Loud~ Logo created in <45 minutes.

Here’s what I was able to create in just a short amount of time

Now, it’s very important when you conceptualize a logo, you have to take a lot of things in consideration. You have to consider what the company is all about, what it wants to do or say, what you want your logo to instantly show. Your logo is all about your company, and it represents the company itself.

Miii.net isn’t really a company, but I do want my new logo to somehow represent my site, which is basically me. So what my logo would look like will basically be me. And the business card where you’ll be putting your logo should also reflect you, the company. It’s all under one package. The moment you give your business card to someone, they should have a somewhat clear idea on what you’re all about. There are actually people who pay hundreds of dollars just to have their logo made.

LogoYes allows you to create your logo in five (5) simple steps. First, you choose your image or your look, if you want a High-tech, bold, or flair image. Then you choose your industry so that the program can come up with the matching images that professionally would fit you. From these images you select one that you feel will represent your company and you. Add your company name and then create your layout–design it, move it around, add colors, increase or decrease the size of the image or the name. Everything is customizable. And then you’re done with your logo. The matching business card is just an additional two (2) steps–Choose the business card layout, and add in your information.

Sounds simple enough? I was able to create my logo and business card in less than an hour, and they were promoting that you can create your logo in 60 minutes. What took longest of my time was choosing the image that would best represent Miii.net.

At first, I was trying to just choose an image and add “Miii!” there somewhere. I first thought, since my tagline is “Say it out loud” and it is a blog, was looking for something like a mouth, but it didn’t somehow match. Then I tried looking for a nice microphone. I worked on that for about 5 minutes until I decided that it won’t work well with how I want to project “Miii!”. Then I tried speakers, but that still didn’t somehow fit. And then I saw the people category, and looked around and thought of the image \o/ (someone jumping up with joy with arms raised in the air) and I did find just what I wanted.

I tried just putting “Miii!” below the picture then I realized, “Hey, I can use this image itself as part of the text.” And so I did. It was also really easy to use and customize. A few easy clicks here and there. Probably, the hardest you would have to do is to decide what you really want. There are so many images to choose from. And there’s so many things you can do with these images. It’s very flexible, that’s why I was able to use the image I selected and make it look like it’s a part of the text.

I’m pretty pleased with what I came up. It looks very professional I wouldn’t really believe that I made this all by myself. Although I’m thinking if I should have made the tagline smaller. But in any case, just the Miii! image is really nice (for me, but anyone is open to his or her opinion).

I also continued and checked out the business cards just to see how my logo will look on a card. I saw a pretty neat layout that will somehow project that I’m a modern person, my blog is modern as well. Instead of using the common designs, I chose this since I’m not very ordinary. I also liked the end result of my business card.

Comparatively, I’d say that this is cheap. You can get your high-quality logo file for $69 and just add $30 for the matching business cards. I know the logo alone could cost like $300 just to hire someone to make one for you, so this is a real winner. I’d like the business cards as well, but I don’t attend enough blogger events to really get one and give away.

Have a company? Or just want a personal logo? Try it out for yourself! It’s really fun doing your own logo design. You just have to take in mind three questions.

1. What is your company all about?
2. What do you want people to see or recognize from your logo?
3. What do you want the people to remember from your logo?
