Matt’s been away too long. He doesn’t reply to my SMS and so far he’s only messaged me twice. I wonder if he’s just in some Michigan bed and breakfast place and not telling me. >_<

Anyway, I met this girl at Dine and Jam today. She’s a student at Sarah’s Mom’s Tagalog school and she’s studying… Tagalog. What else? When I asked her where she was from, she just said, “The States.” So I asked her which state she was from, and she said, “Michigan. No one knows where it is, that’s alright.”

I didn’t bother telling her that Matt’s from Michigan. I didn’t think something like, “Oh, my boyfriend is in Michigan so I know where it is.” Sometime later I heard her say that again, so I said, “Actually, I have a lot of friends from Michigan.”

“Oh really?” She says.

“Yes, from Ann Arbor…” “–that’s 5 minutes away from my place,” she butt in.

“… from Muskegon…” “–*” I forgot what she said, but another time frame.

“… and from Detroit.” “I grew up there!”

And then she told me about how the map of Michigan is shaped like a hand, which Yu told me that it was a mitten and not a hand.

Ah… well. I’ve seen the map of Michigan numerous times, but this was the first time I saw it as a mitten.

I always see the Philippines as a kangaroo. O_o.

—— To end this post… The food at Dine & Jam was good. Is Good. Because I took home some. As usual.
