Letting Go
And so Pop’s mom came home and will be staying here for a month.
I wasn’t awake when she arrived last night, and this morning, Eelai greeted me “Good morning” and I asked, “What’s good with the morning?” knowing that she’s just in her room, enjoying the air-conditioner, racking up the electric bill. Eelai was also telling me about their trip home from the airport. They were telling her about the dogs, and she said “Ukinina! ano’ng akala niyo sa bahay ko, kennel? (Son of a bitch! What do you think of my house, a kennel?)” and after that everyone in the car just went quiet–my Pop included.

On the way home, several times I felt my ring on my pinkie slipping off. When I woke up next morning… I hadn’t noticed that it was gone. I only realized it was gone the next night, last night =_=;;
