Love is the Answer

love-is-the-answer

I was able to borrow from Sir Chris Reyes a recording of Love is the Answer by Raymond Hannisian performed by the Philippine Madrigal Singers.

I first heard this song in my high school, Quezon City Science High School… sung by Himig Xientia. Honestly, I like their version better. I love their version. It sounds happier, but I couldn’t find anything better. The one on youtube was crappy.

This is crappy as well. It’s from a cassette tape recording transfered to CD. I even had to clean it up, removed the hiss and noise, because it was really annoying. This version has a guitar accompaniment. I want a version without accompaniment!!!

LOVE IS THE ANSWER
by: Raymond Hannisian

Morning comes and I must go; day is breaking yonder.
After all the places I have been, now I’m going home.
I have been to seek the sky, to travel on the highway
And the time has come, I don’t know why
I am going home.

REF1:
Where is the answer to so many questions
I don’t know, so I begin another journey
Where is the meaning for my world
I see the answer now.

Though we came by diff’rent roads, now we walk together.
Stay beside me all our days, strangers never more.
Through the cool of summer rains, by the hearthside fire
Here I’ll be with you when nothing remains
I am home to stay.

REF2:
For love is the answer to so many questions
Now I know, and I can stop my endless wand’ring
Love gives the meaning to my world
I see the answer now.

Love gives meaning to my world
And I see the answer now

Love is the Answer… Love!

This doesn’t sound like Madz. @_@
Are you sure this is Madz?

haha, I’m a former Himig Xientian member and we sang this song during my time. :p

Hi Ericka

Yes, it’s Madz, but probably it doesn’t sound much like them because it is a cassette-taped recording and just digitally edited. Plus the low-bitrate, it must have distorted the quality even more.

I got it from the conductor of UP Staff Choral Singers :)

And yes, the Himig Xientia’s is still the best version I’ve heard!

Oh I see. @_@

then I see what you mean by Himig Xientia’s version sounding “happier”. :p hahaha, I think because Himig’s version tends to sound… I dunno, younger, perhaps. :D

If I may ask, what batch are you from? ^___^

Oh I see.

Hm… Madz have a matured voice quality while Himig Xienita, being a high school choir, tends to sound young. Perhaps that’s why Himig’s version tends to sound happier. :)

:D If I may ask, what batch are you from? :D

Thanks for posting! ^_^

:D hehe, 2006 po ako. ^__^

Yup! After the graduated, Himig Xientia died (at least until 2001)

I don’t know what happened after that, but it seems that it was revived. :) That’s cool. Was Ma’am Sison still the one conducting? (IS she still alive?)

um… during my time, I guess you can say we revived it. :) Pero si Mrs. Lomibao po ang conductor namin. ^_^ and I’m sorry but I don’t know kung sino po si Ma’am Sison, baka hindi ko po naabutan. :(

Anyway, I say revived because during my time we were very active and we joined competitions and the like. ^_^ I don’t know if you’ve heard, we won the GMA 7 SiS Christmas Carol Competition. :D

I don’t watch TV, sorry. Congratulations though! If I remember correctly, Himig was also invited to sing at various events before.

I think it was Ma’am Lomibao who was already conducting Himig that time. It’s been so long. Ma’am Sison composed the Alma Mater song of Xientia. I would assume she’s gone by now, God bless her soul.

hahaha! It’s okay. ^_^ I don’t watch TV either, I only found out about SiS when we joined the contest. hahaha. :D

And yep! Himig did get invited to lots of different events. ^_^

Ohhh. Ma’am Sison who composed the Alma Mater! I see… Bless her soul. –.

Thanks po for dropping by my multiply! ^___^

No problem. It was really nice to know that Himig got revived. By any chance do you have recordings? :)

Sadly, no. :( At least not of the best batch I’ve been in. (to be honest, my last year in himig wasn’t all that great. It was nevertheless, a very good choir to be in)

I did post some videos of our SiS competition in youtube. Though I can’t guarantee quality. (even I’d be honest enough to say we don’t sound as good as we wanted to be — but we won, so that’s got to count for something (unless we won because of popularity? which would be really sad. :( )

If you’re interested you can search for “Himig Xientia” on youtube. ^_^
