MiMi - Without You

Who are those girls singing? hehe..

I have a friend I sing duets with. Her internet identity is mistress9 but her real nickname is Mimi. I’m also Mimi, but a fake one. She’s the real Mimi. I’m only Mimi because of Mi.

It’s a little funny how I met her. She stalked someone on Rizon and got to my channel, then she said Uno sucked or something like that (because I had the Uno script running) and then she left I think? Then I whois’d her and saw that she had relations with MISHICORP which I HATE. Then I saw her on DALnet and kicked her. ^___^

But then I knew that was bad, I said sorry to her later on. Then we found out that we actually both disliked the person I hated. We also found out that we both loved to sing, and I introduced her to OMGsong.

According to her, however, she said I said I went to Rizon too so she followed me… THEN i kicked her on dalnet. maaa… dun get the real story behind this. EITHER WAY, I befriended her and the story continues.

Eventually, we tried doing a song together.

We realized that we sounded good together and sang another song. This time from Gensoumaden Saiyuki, by Mirai, called Open Up Your Mind

Other people liked how our voices sounded together, so someone from the OMGsong community invited us to do a trio. I think it’s originally by Morning Musume, called Usotsuki Anta.

Sometimes we also just sing a song for fun, like with the Sailormoon song, Moonlight Densetsu.

When I took off karaoke-ing, I decided to play the songs I was going to sing, and we ended up singing a song where I play the guitar. It didn’t turn out very nice because I couldn’t really reach the vocal range. I gave up that dream :P This is a song originally by Southern All-Stars but we made it because of the cover of Kazuyoshi Saito and Bonnie Pink.

At this point, we’ve always been misan and mistress or mistress and misan, or Mis X Miz or Miz X Mis or whoever’s name comes first.

One time, I told her I was practicing a song, Sayonara from Saikano because I just finished watching it. Then I told her that I couldn’t get a part right, so we ended up voice chatting. While voice chatting ala practicing, we sort of sang in a duet. Of course it didn’t work out exactly fine, because of the delays, but it did give us a good idea for a new duet.
Thus, we ended up having a duet version of Sayonara.

I seriously thought that duet was our best. To the point where we figured that we’re going to have an official name for our duo, like tiaraway. We played around with MisXMiz or MizXMis … I honestly am uncomfortable with someone’s name being first… then we came up with MiMi which was perfect. We call each other Mimi. Why not call our duo MiMi?

Hence, MiMi was born.

And for our debut song as a duo, we sang another tiaraway song, the same one I put in the beginning of this post. Maybe it can be thought of as tribute to Omoide Good Night… It’s a character song from W-Wish. The first time I heard this song, I thought, “I want to sing this with Mimi.”

We loved our most recent duet so much that we didn’t want to mess up with mixing, so we asked a few people to mix for us, but only one really produced a good result.

This isn’t the end. We’re planning to sing a lot more songs, like RYTHEM’s Negai and Harmonia, and tiaraway’s Usual Place.
