MMMiii!

I grew up watching the Dragon Ball series (Among others… of course.. there’s Macross, Ranma, La Blue Girl, and so on…….)

Currently, one of the anime I am following is Lucky Star, from which my cute avatars come from, though I haven’t posted everything. I stole them from a board… (I’m sorry I forgot which, please drop me a note if you know which). It is based on a 4-panel manga like Azumanga Daioh, and it’s crazy like Haruhi Suzumiya no Yuuutsu, but I think it’s way crazier. It has a lot of anime, manga, forum, and game references even otaku events (They actually happened in real life) references. It reminds me a little of Martian Successor Nadesico which has a lot of parodies of other anime, particularly of mecha anime. I haven’t watched a lot of parody anime (I can’t think of the other title that I actually know had a lot of references), but this one is almost overboard… What the heck, I take that back. It is overboard.

The anime is halfway through the series, and they’re about to release Lucky ☆ Star Ending Theme Drama album but it leaked out… While reading, listen to the opening song of Lucky Star - Motteke! Seiraafuku.

Lucky Star revolves around 4 girls, but it seems to be centered more on Konata Izumi (泉 こなた),. Konata is intelligent, athletic, and skilled, but she is THE hardcore otaku in every sense of the word, that her life revolves around anime, manga, games, forum (image boards, 2ch), and otaku events (Comiket or Comic Market, etc) so much so that she is known as the Legendary Girl A. She takes advantage of her height to get child discounts at movies.

Next is Kagami Hiiragi (柊 かがみ),. Although she’s always watching her diet, she likes eating rice cakes. Konata and Kagami’s twin, Tsukasa, copy their homeworks from her. She is the dependable sister because she is intelligent, studious, and always taking care of Tsukasa. She is the Ane (Older sister) of Tsukasa even if they are twins, though Kagami was born first.

Tsukasa Hiiragi (柊 つかさ) is the younger twin of Kagami. She is clumsy, clumsy, and clumsy. She’s cute and very innocent… I don’t really know what else I could say about her… Hmm.. Oh, she’s pretty slow. And clumsy. And cute. Yes. That’s about it. Oh way, she’s good at cooking. The chores are usually delegated to her, so Kagami sucks at it.

Miyuki Takara (高良 みゆき) is rich, intelligent, elegant, knowledgeable, and so on. She is the typical moe(モエ) girl which makes her the butt of Konata’s verbal sekuhara (sexual harassment) cracks. She wears glasses, a little clumsy, very polite, cute, and …. moe.

The first 4 episodes weren’t that good. Which was why the director for the first four eps got booted. After that, it was gooood. Although I did laugh a LOT in the first episode.

The radio drama series were different from the anime series, but I think they still did a pretty good job. Aya Hirano, the seiyuu for Haruhi in Haruhi Suzumiya no Yuuutsu.
