Student-teaching day 10
I observed Ma’am Diane’s class. I paid attention to her questions this time. I think I get it now. Anyway, Ma’am de Villa got a tip from ma’am Anasta that the students didn’t quite understand Beowulf so she decided to push through with the pre-reading of Beowulf. I’m not really sure if I should include that in my LP… but it’s already too messed up as it is. We used my vocabulary words and I did the unlocking in class, 9-Calcium first. Ma’am de Villa seemed pleased that the students looked pleased.
Ma’am de Villa told me to try to do the same as what she did with Gold. I think I did alright… for the most parts. Lee got bored. I wanted to call his attention but I was too nervous this time. When I was reading Beowulf already, I noticed that they were all getting bored after a few lines, so I kept interrupting my reading to ask them what a word meant, or why something was like that…
After I stopped somewhere, some continued reading (silent reading) for 5 minutes. Most of them completely stopped. They asked begged to be dismissed early. I told them I would dismiss them 10 minutes before 4pm… They still had about 20 minutes… and they didn’t read.
I Just hope they pass the quiz tomorrow.
