Student-teaching day 08

28 June, 2007 (19:49) | Food, Life | By: Mi

<—- This has been me for the past few days. I’m always falling asleep while working on my LP. I admit that it’s my fault that I haven’t been able to finish my LP before sleeping time, because I get bored and chat on IRC for a bit… and a little bit more. Sing a little for karaoke. Speaking of Karaoke, me and Mimi are almost done with our duet of tiaraway’s Without You… we’re planning to call our duo MiMi from now on.

Back to school stuff…

I have diarrhea today. I still went to school though. I’d like to have a principle that I’ll only miss class if I’m on my deathbed, but no sickness should stop me. But diarrhea is different, I guess. Better be absent that make a mess and a complete embarrassment to myself.

That was a lie. I didn’t have my ST’s number so I couldn’t inform her that I wasn’t feeling well. Miss Cathy said I should have asked for her number from the first day we met. Oh well.
Gail arrived and gave me Diatabs that had popped out of the capsule and I still took it (It tasted so … bleaaachh) and then she dug up a Imodium capsule from her bag. I took that as well.

Prof Chris asked us to think of a design for our work desks, as if to mark that we owned it, or to mark our place, that we were a couple of steps away from being a teacher by being a student-teacher. Hehe. I don’t know…

Calcium greeted me again. I’m glad.

Justin showed me his lesson plan for Beowulf. I wanted to cry. His LP was sooooo… interesting. I got jealous a bit. His ST is so modern. I have like 2 pages of just objectives. Justin has just 6 objectives. I have to have like 6 each of 3 main objectives.

His class activity is a debate. Two situations to debate upon:

The first: Beowulf couldn’t get into heaven because he killed Grendel and killing is wrong. Should he allowed into the Gates of Heaven or not?

The second: Hrothgar doesn’t know about Beowulf and he as a King couldn’t get rid of Grendel. Should he be removed from his position as King or not?

I want to sit in his class!

All was well until lunch time. I was debating whether to eat lunch or not. If I ate, my diarrhea might come back. If I didn’t, I’d get hungry. I hate being tired and sleepy and worn out and then be hungry. That would be like the final blow. So I ate.

When Ma’am de Villa asked for a Social Studies instructor to explain to us the extent of the Roman Empire so we could connect it with the development of English, I felt it. I didn’t want to stand up… but I had to.

I made a boo-boo. I shouldn’t have eaten lunch. But the damage has been done. I asked Ma’am de Villa after our crash lesson on map-reading if I could leave early. She said I shouldn’t have eaten fish (I had tuna in tomato sauce for lunch). She allowed me anyway, and asked for my cellphone number because she forgot hers.

I only spent 4.5 hours at school today… The prescribed daily was 5 hours a day. But it doesn’t really matter, since I stay an average of 6.75 hours. I can easily make up for it.

I suddenly felt the loss of not seeing my 9-Gold future students today. :(
