I’m Frustrated

I gained weight

These past two weeks, I’ve eaten more noodles than I have in the past 3 months. It’s not like I have cookware in my room… only a microwave oven and microwavable bowls. Although, it WOULD be fun if I had an electric stove in my room… and maybe an oven (not a microwave oven). I could cook eggs on a non-stick pan … not use oil… or or bake a cake! yes! Carrot cake?

But as it is, my room is already cluttered and could hardly walk around. I have to move the computer table and coffee table around sometimes to get to places.

Papa said months ago that they’d get me a new bed…. Heh… No new bed still. Oh well.

Oh, back to gaining weight.

I’ve been eating oatmeal at home for three days now, though I eat rice when I’m at school. I don’t really want to come across as too weird. I’m already labeled as the not-so-good student-teacher… I don’t need the weirdo tagged on me as well.

I need to diet diet diet! Crash diet again? Actually, some of my clothes had gotten a little loose last week, and now it’s okay again. *sigh*

Noodles.

Student-teaching day 09

I made a holder for Pens out of cardboard to put on my work area. It was the only fun time I had today. I had a ton of pens in my pen bag that it wouldn’t close anymore. I have 3 colors of permanent markers and 2 of whiteboard markers. I like having options. I made one because I had half a folder in my file case and was bored because my ST didn’t give me her comments for my LP soon enough so I could start revising…

My lesson plan got rejected again. It’s so depressing. It’s already my 3rd revision and I still couldn’t do it right. I feel like everything I learned were useless. I have to start from scratch. I think my ST is starting to lose patience with me as well. I need to start rewriting my lesson plan in a bit. But I’m going to share the events of today first.

Today in class, there was this student who was being stubborn and didn’t want to cooperate. I don’t think he was stupid. He was just being sullen and stubborn. He refused to answer my ST’s questions. From coaxing to threatening to remove him from the basketball team, my ST did her best. But to be honest, she lost in that battle. She said she wouldn’t let him off until he answered properly even if it took the whole class period. She said she would make him stay in class with her even when his classmates leave for their next class. But her patience snapped and she took him outside for a talk. When she came back, the kid didn’t get back in and they resumed lessons.

I read somewhere that when you’re a teacher, you must keep to your word.

Student-teaching day 08

<—- This has been me for the past few days. I’m always falling asleep while working on my LP. I admit that it’s my fault that I haven’t been able to finish my LP before sleeping time, because I get bored and chat on IRC for a bit… and a little bit more. Sing a little for karaoke. Speaking of Karaoke, me and Mimi are almost done with our duet of tiaraway’s Without You… we’re planning to call our duo MiMi from now on.

Back to school stuff…

I have diarrhea today. I still went to school though. I’d like to have a principle that I’ll only miss class if I’m on my deathbed, but no sickness should stop me.

IBackup

This is not your ordinary Online Storage website. IBackup offers not just holding your files online. You can download their webtools so you can easily drag and drop files into your folders, or even schedule a regular backup of your files. IBackup offers both browser and desktop access to your Online storage account for easy drag-and-drop and you can even directly edit some documents in it. You can also map your online storage account into your local directories for easy upload and downloading of files. This is like having an extra drive on your computer!

What caught my eye was the scheduled back-up of your files. This would be very helpful if you’re the type of person who only manages to keep like 2% of free space on your drives, and not enough space to back-up your files from one drive to another.

However, what really got my attention was the folder views or mapped drive so you can easily drag-and-drop files from your local drive to your online drive–something other online storage websites don’t have! Top to that the security and performance it offers. IBackup’s performance tops the rest by about 30-50% especially because of its desktop applications. With IBackup’s efficiency, it offers its users more productivity.

Swimming Fiasco and Women Beaters

I hate a lot of kinds of people, but probably the worst kinds are the guys who beat women up.

Last Saturday, we went out swimming at Pansol, Laguna with Iks, his gf Eelai, Orc, his gf (I shall not disclose the name), my cousin James and his gf Deb, Joe and gf Jas, Tachi, and Moj.

Swim Gang!~

v(^_^)v - Yes, i had a shirt on.

Tachi doesn’t have a gf, but he’s probably got some girl hidden away. Moj is already engaged to be married this October. I felt left out. XD We had fun. The pool water was warm and there was karaoke. I sang at the top of my lungs. I was screaming.

Student-teaching Day 07

Today, I and the other student teachers attended the department meeting even if we really had no business being there. It was exciting to be sitting there with the other faculty, even if they did not require us to participate.

I included this Wednesday as a Student-teaching day because it was still a teaching matter. My ST volunteered to take over two classes for a week, which meant more load on me. Which wasn’t really bad… except I’m still worried about my LP because I still seem to not do it right. I don’t quite understand it. She trusts me with the class, but I can’t plan a lesson properly… I wish she’d go over my whole plan first before stopping right in her tracks after seeing my list of objectives. I understand that the lesson plan’s heart is the objectives, but maybe she could help me improve from there.

Anyway, there was free food–Chicken potpie and soda and ice cream.

*Sigh*

Student-teaching Day 06

Today, Ma’am de Villa left me alone with her classes. In the morning, I was made to go ahead and facilitate the class to do their activity. She came half-way the class period. Some students asked me if their teacher was coming. Some looked happy, some looked disappointed. I felt sad when they expressed disappointment. That meant that they didn’t like me as their student teacher.

Student-teaching day 05

Another Monday… My second week as a student-teacher. Since that last Monday, there have been many times when my ST had left me alone with her class, or sent me ahead to get the class ready. 9-Calcium is still not receptive to me, but at least Gold had somewhat warmed up to me… at least I think so. Calcium forgets I’m there. Gold forgets, but someone or a couple of them reminds to greet me or say goodbye to me.

We had an activity, and I think I failed the two best students of 9-Gold when I failed to give them a ready answer. Because Ma’am de Villa’s instructions were to use the Continuum/scale map or time events map, I wasn’t certain if I could allow them to ue others, so I asked them to wait for Ma’am de Villa. I think they were disappointed. I just have to learn from my mistakes.

They say the perfect learner is not the one who doesn’t make mistakes, but the one who does and corrects them, because they are continuously learning and growing…. but I feel like all I’ve been doing lately are mistakes.

Ma’am DV said she was going to leave her classes with me tomorrow, even the Grade 10 class. I haven’t even got my Lesson Plan approved… In fact, I need to completely make a new one. She liked my movie production activity though.

In my movie production activity, I’m going to ask the students to pretend they were having a movie production. They have to make a movie poster, the image showing what best represents the story, including the names of the cast. Then they have to “sell” their movie or promote it in a commercial-like way.

Here’s something I learned from swimming last Saturday, because I almost drowned myself at the 5-ft deep part of the pool:

Don’t panic. Calm down first, then keep your chin up. You’ll be able to get through whatever hardship you’re going through.

Additional thoughts for today:

It is okay to deviate. Let the students find their own way to do things if it works better for them. Don’t constrain them to a single way.
