Time stood still in silence when I first saw you pass by
A silent fiery hue then touched the sky a sudden second after
Silently, time kicked in again and I watched you walk away

The summer breeze blew in silence, warming my cold lips
The sun shone in silence as I stood rooted in my place
I could only wait for you in silence, hoping maybe someday…

Your face seemed peaceful in that eerie silent light
From this silent distance, I wished I could see your eyes
In my silent reverie, I could only admire what I could see

Silently, the cold sank to my sun-kissed ground
Silently, I felt the chill and shivered
Silently, I stood straight and looked ahead

Sweet silence surrounded me as darkness set upon the sky
In silence I wished to scream out your name I’ve yet to know
I realized then in silence, this was one of Nature’s cruel games

The silent days turned to weeks, everyday was always the same
Until one by one, my sisters stopped looking at the silent sky
Like a silent weed, I refused to succumb to Nature’s claws

Silently, I remembered that time when I first saw you smile
Silently, I reminisced that moment you turned and looked at me
Silently, I recalled that day I smiled back as you waved your hand

Summer had passed in silence before I noticed you were really gone
The silent wind through my fingers told me I had to go after dawn
Silently, I fell at last, but my eyes still longed to see the sun

Silently, I withered, and wondered if someone noticed I was gone

This was for my CL 121 class. The professor gave us a choice between writing a paper and submitting a literary piece. This literary piece could even be something we submitted for another class. The only requirement for the literary piece is that it should be good enough to be published. We can submit both, and the one with the higher grade will be included in the computation of the final grade.I wrote a really crappy paper and submitted it along with this poem… ….. I failed both exams… and… well…

I got a 2.0 for the final grade. That’s like … a B+ I guess. I don’t know. =_=
