Mondays and Rainy Days
Last Monday, I saw mangoes for P30/kg. They were a little small… I bought 3 kg and then walked home. XD The usual 45 minute walk.. well.. maybe 35 minutes from where I bought it.
I was supposed to ride a trike once I got inside Sikatuna Village, but I wasn’t paying attention. When I came to, I was more than halfway home… So I didn’t bother. Just another 20 minutes anyway.
So there I was, lugging 3 kg of mangoes home. I was thinking of various thoughts in my head. I was planning something big that day. I was kind of nervous and excited…
When I got home, Eelai told me to bring a book, because I’d be waiting a lot. I forgot to bring a book.
Before we left, I was dealing with the printer. The printer ran out of red ink so I had to refill it. For some reason, it wouldn’t work properly. I was trying to make it work since morning, before I left for class. And so when I came back, I still couldn’t get it to work properly. I was getting frustrated.
I was able to print it properly just before I had to leave. And then Iks brought me to his office and filled out some forms and handed my freshly printed resume.
Waited for a bit.
And then I saw Mike. lol. Christine Mikael. My officer when I was doing COCC. Somehow when I saw her I kind of knew I was in.
Took the exam. It was a easy in general, just that there were some I had absolutely no idea about. A few hours of waiting, Mike came out and “interviewed” me. It was more of a hi-hello-what’s up-how’s life kind of interview instead of a real interview. Another few hours waiting, interview with tech to make sure I just didn’t guess everything in the exam.
Tech Person: So… How would you rate yourself with hardware?
Mi:Â I would rate myself a 7. I know how some things work together, putting together the components inside, what happens when a PSU fan dies, or when a hard drive starts failing, those things… I know some, but not all, that is why I give myself a 7.
Tech: How about in software? Windows XP?
Mi: I think… a 9.
Tech: Okay. Do you know what happens when you do a System Restore?
Mi: You know what? I’ve never tried doing that… ever. All I know is you put the installer CD inside, and then you boot it and press something and it does system restore. I don’t really know. (etc etc)
Tech: O..kay.. At least you’re honest. How about networks?
Mi: A…. 1.
Tech: No really? I don’t think you’d be a 1. You said you’re on the computer most of the time. I’m sure you’ve encountered some problems regarding your network.
Mi: Well… I’m trying to think of what I know about networks…
—– 2 minutes later —–
Mi: I really can’t think of anything!
Tech: No… Well.. maybe a 7 or an 8? Somewhere in between?
Mi: Fine, I’ll give myself a 6 for passing. For knowing things about bandwidth and stuff.
Tech: Okay, what do you need for a basic network?
Mi: A … browser?
Tech: No… like…basic. like you’re going to start one.
Mi: Oh… like…a working computer, a modem, a phone line if needed, an internet subscription, an OS….Cables…
Tech: What’s the most important thing you need?
Mi: Electricity?
Tech: You, the user!
Mi: Oh.. ok.
blah blah blah.
Soo… After that I was a little worried. I didn’t think I did well in the tech interview. I still don’t think so. Lol. Waiting…waiting… waiting….
Finally Mike came out. Lol. I passed it. Only they don’t have vacancies. lol. so… no job. But I’ll be one of the first on the list once a new team is created.
A~ah… and here I thought I’d have a job soon. =/ Like… a week or two later, at most. It seems like it might open next month. *sigh*
