~ Say it out Loud! ~

Month: April, 2007

My disrupted food habits

My yogurt drinks expired.

Banana apple i think, and strawberry. Nestle Yogurt Drink. DAMNIT! IT’s 27 php each =/ around 0.54 usd =_=

The Jicama (Singkamas) started growing … dunno.. mold. i think. i should’ve taken pictures. They’ve been in the fridge for God knows how long.

I have three-week old oranges. I’m eating them right now. They’re too sweet. They don’t even taste like oranges anymore.

I have two-week old Milk in the fridge. I bought it the same day I bought the yogurt drinks. How come they taste like carbonated drinks while this milk doesn’t? Should I drink it?

Ever since I started this crazy diet, I’ve hardly touched my noodles. Oh.. the Chinese noodles are expired too. It’s stamped April 2007 even if it expired December of last year. I guess it could wait another year.

Anyway, back to my laments.

I’ve been avoiding rice like plague. I drink a lot of liquids. If I feel hungry, I try drinking water. If my hunger subsides, then I won’t eat. If I’m still hungry after drinking a ton of water, I go eat something.

I still eat noodles. Like once or twice a week. If not, I’m going to have withdrawal syndromes, a I am addicted to noodles. The noodles I have are big servings though. Two servings for each pack. Now, what I do is, I don’t force myself to finish it. I put it in the fridge when I’m full. It tastes horrible after reheating though.

I buy my own food … almost. I buy my own fruits. I almost never eat what’s served on the table anymore. It’s either too sweet, too salty, too fatty, too … unhealthy. We have vegetables at home once a week or every other week. I have no choice but to not eat food served here if I really want to pursue this diet.

I walk a lot. Well… not much really. I walk home from school. It’s about a 40-45 minute walk. I’m already dark again. My class ends a little before 11 and I walk under that heat. Usually around 32-35 degrees Celsius. At first by the time I arrived home, I’d be feeling a little dizzy and dehydrated. Now I’m kind of used to it. I walk to the point where I could ride a tricycle home, and then I feel like it would be a waste (PhP7.00) to spend it when I’m only 20 minutes away from home so I end up walking.

I’m trying to eat healthy food. Avoiding stuff like chocolates and Coke… >_< it’s so hard. I miss eating noodles everyday.

$500 million underwater fiber network to link Asia, America

Faster Intarwebz: Read the topic here.

This would mean faster intarwebz for us in the Asia-Pacific. At least, Southeast Asia and the Pacific.

That means that if Taiwan gets another big earthquake and underwater lines break, the rest of SEAsia won’t get cut off from the internet world.

From the Philippines, if the lines are to the left, there is always this greater danger for earthquakes because of the ring of fire crap, but actually plate boundaries crap. Plus, it takes longer to get to the US. But if it goes to the right, it kind of avoids the worst earthquakes, worst would be volcaning earthquakes in Hawaii, I think. and lesser too. Faster to reach California because it’ll take less hops to get there.

Currently it takes like 25 or more hops to get to the US…

maa. w/e. it’ll be up December of NEXT year. still a long time.

The Evolution of The “Mi”

Did you ever wonder where the “Mi” came from? Mi is currently my internet identity. As much as possible, I use Mi. Signing guestbooks or comments, usernames for forums and stuff if I can, and so on. I wanted to get the domain Mi.com but it was already taken. Mii was taken too, I think. Hence, Miii.

Here are some of the nicks I’ve used in the past:

midori / みどり (green), misanthrope, michan, misan, miz, mizu, miao, mishi, mimi, and so on.

I wouldn’t really mind if you called me a nick-whore. I collect nicks. It’s like collecting rocks or something. Anyway, here are the possible answers to how I started using “Mi.”

 1. I got so entranced by the Do Re Mi song especially that line “Mi, the name I call myself.”
 2. Again concerning music, since my first name starts with E, I thought it would be cute if I used “Mi.”
 3. I was so proud of myself that I think the only one who should be called “The Great ME” but since that is so cliche, I used “Mi.”
 4. Someone couldn’t pronounce my long nick so they shortened it to “Mi.”
 5. I got really lazy that I thought “michan” was too long so I shortened it to “Mi.”
 6. I didn’t like the color green anymore so I shortened “midori” to “Mi.”

What’s your answer? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6? Or none of the above?

I’ll answer that next week. x_x

For now, here is a cover by Ai Otsuka with her band in the drama SURVIVAL COMPANY, called “to me”. And I’ll just think that it’s “to mi.” Anyway, this was the first song she sung in the Japanese DVD Drama Tokyo Friends.

And here is the original song by BOO BEE BENZ.

Enjoy!

Chiiiiiii~~!!

You scored as Chii. According to results, you are most like Chii from Chobits. Innocent, adorable and fresh, you love learning new things and exploring the world, even though it might get you in to trouble from time to time. You are happy in your own little world, and you feel best when you are able to show those around you how much you care. Just remember to “recharge” yourself from time to time and you’ll be just fine.

Things to Know About Google Talk

Ok. Everyone knows I’m on Google Talk ALL the time. You can even send me SMS or text messages through it to my cellphone. You just have to know my number and append @chikkatalk.com to it. That way, I still get to chat with some important people in my life like Matt and Yu. It is also a vital part of my life because that’s what I use to talk to Matt almost 24/7 .. maybe … like 12/7 including sleep. Currently 20 hours a day approximately, since I don’t stay in school much now that it’s just the Summer term.

So now, extra stuff about GTalk.

 • File Transfers: Probably a lot of people know about this already, but since in the GTalk help pages, it doesn’t mention it… You can drag files to your GTalk conversation window to send files, as long as the other person and you are using the GTalk client. Most other IM clients has this feature anyway. These files could be just one, multiple, or even a whole folder.
 • Call / Hang-up / Answer: GTalk actually has shortcut keys for these. I thought it was just for my keyboard so I didn’t mention it to Matt. Well, he was playing around pressing random keys and discovered it too. F11 is for calling and answering. F12 is for hanging up. This is helpful to know since we usually sleep with GTalk. And sometimes I get disconnected because of my stupidity and I call him back and he doesn’t really want to turn the monitor back on. So now we just use F11 to call/answer and F12 to hang-up. No need to turn monitor back on. I just wish GTalk had an auto-answer option to make life easier.
 • Calls: It’s clear and you can have it on forever! It doesn’t disconnect you unless your Internet connection or your computer is stupid. Best of all, it doesn’t use up much memory.
 • Simultaneous access: You can have GTalk running in more than one place at the same time. Heck, you can even have it running on your computer in more than one instance. 1 on the GMail window, and another one on the client itself, and another one on the Google Talk Gadget , which I will have to put somewhere on my blog and websitelater. You could also add GTalk to your sidebar on FireFox.
 • YouTube and Picasa/Flickr Integration: This only works for the Gadget though, but with the gadget, you can watch YouTube and view Pictures right on your GTalk window! Well, for the client, you can preview pictures right on GTalk too. Even if you send multiple pictures, you can have them show up on your conversation window then and there. Just stretch your GTalk window to a size wherein the whole picture can fit.
 • VoiceMail: Other person isn’t on or available? Leave a voice message! Feeling stupid? Leave a voice message! Want your loved one to make you a personalized ringtone? Make him leave a voice message! instant mp3 XD
 • Logs: It logs all your chats whenever and wherever you are. You don’t want it logged? You can put your conversation off the record too.
 • Twitter: Got a Twitter account? You can easily change your status on Twitter with GTalk. Just add twitter@twitter.com to your contacts and Voila! Instant updates! Oh, you could add me on twitter too. &gt;_&gt; Miii &lt;—-
 • Instant EMail: If you want to send an email to the person you’re having a conversation with on GTalk, just press F9.
 • And the best feature of all: It’s not bloatware! Unlike MSN and YM and ICQ and AIM which includes a lot of useless shit, GTalk is very minimalistic. Simple, Sleek, Sufficient.
 • Want themes and stuff? Go to customizetalk.com for it. (wow the tricks and tips that i discovered are there too! >_< =_=)

>_< I hope it doesn’t become bloatware.

Romeo no Aoi Sora

I’m currently downloading the batch torrent of the raws for Romeo’s Blue Skies or Romio no Aoi Sora / Romio no Aozora. In Tagalog, it was Ang Mga Munting Pangarap ni Romeo.

I think this came out in the Philippines around 1997. I remember skipping on the Star Olympics and seeing actors and actresses at Subic just to watch Romeo. I remember crying so much when Alfred died. I can still remember their song.

Kami ang itim na magkakapatid
magkakasama, nagkakaisa
kahit mahihirap lang
masaya naman

:D

Anyway, I was asking my people in #roflmao if anyone wanted to fansub this anime with me. No one wanted.

SO… I am going to start a fansub group! With only Me in it. Unless someone wants to help me with translation, typesetting, timing, encoding, distribution, and so on. But for now, it’s a one-man group. :D
